Weeding and Reading | Garden Maintenance Day By Friendship Heights Alliance

Calling all garden volunteers! Save the date for Saturday, Nov. 23, for “Weeding and Reading,” a garden maintenance day where we also fellowship over literature.

From 9:30-10:30 AM, we’ll be “putting the gardens to bed” for the winter — meaning, we’ll do some final weeding, and add another layer of mulch to both garden beds. Then from 11:00-12:00, we’ll gather at Booeymonger for the first meeting of our garden reading group! The reading we’ll be discussing is Robin Wall Kimmerer’s chapter “Asters and Goldenrod,” from her book Braiding Sweetgras
